BEST DERMATOLOGY BOOK EVER !!! Jun 06, 2004 Good bye ROOK , The most compact dermatology textbook containing ALL the information within 2 vols is finally here. The book can be said to be the dermatology counterpart of Medicine's Kumar and clark .It has flow charts which help you understand and diagnose various conditions .It also has lots of tabular columns which give you all the facts about a topic (eg ,indications of methotrexate or screening tests done before starting methotrexate for psoriasis )in one single table which makes it very easy for you to retreive what you want in a glance. The book also has lots of photos about common and rare diseases .The text is easy to read (flows ).This book fills a long felt vacuum among dermatologists of a standard textbook containing all the information ,which is easy to read and yet compact and handy.

Best Overall Dermatology Text Book Also Available Online Sep 29, 2004
By D. J Najarian For the past 6 months I have been reading the best overall text book on any subject I have ever studied for the past 24 years: Dermatology by Bolognia. What I like about this book: the chapters are clearly written and well illustrated. The information is useful, very well organized, clinically relevant, and fairly complete. Chapters cover medical derm, cosmetic derm, and surgical derm. The book is replete with useful tables. Best of all, there is an online version available with the purchase of the books, which allows one to easily print out copies of chapters for reading on the train, etc. Kudos to Bolognia et al. I plan to read every chapter a couple of times before I graduate!

Good book, bad service Feb 21, 2008
By SA Book lover These are great books. Unfortunately I had to order them twice from Amazon. First time only received Vol 1 (even though this is a two volume set!!!) and then had to hear that I cannot be sent vol 2, and second time the order was lost.

outstanding primary derm textbook Feb 22, 2010
By Robert R. Jordan as a dermatologist in private practice for some twenty years, i have read most of the major textbooks, and fitzpatrick had been my favorite. i think this text is much superior in terms of readability and relevance for a practicing clinician-i think there is less basic science in this text but i believe i am none the worse for whatever they left out. they struck a nice balance between providing sufficient basic science without producing overkill. i have not utilized any on the on-line materials, so i cannot comment on that aspect of the text. i found this text downright enjoyable to read. it will be interesting to compare this to the the new rook when it comes out in april 2010, and i will update my review at that time.
