5Great book for surgeons who operate on the face  Sep 24, 2005
This book is not intended to be a detailed review of facial anatomy. Instead it is designed to give a "a realistic surgeon's-eye view", and that is exactly what it does. Surgeons who operate on the face will enjoy the clear illustrations and gain a better understanding of the dissection planes that are critical for a successful outcome. Important surgical landmarks, such as the facial nerve, are well-outlined. Photos of cadaveric tissue dissections, which are also included in the book, greatly enhance the understanding of anatomy as encountered during surgery. A key book to have for head and neck surgeons.

1Not worth the prize  May 28, 2005
I ordered this book based on the publishers review and have to say that I was disappointed to the degree that I returned it. The illustrations are poor in detail and quality, especially for a book supposedly centered on anatomy. There are a lot of other books that describe the anatomy of this region in greater detail, without being anatomic atlases. Sorry, but this book isn't worth the money!
